This role is with the Not-for-Profit practice within SullivanCotter, which serves clients in private and community foundations, research institutes, policy and advocacy organizations, social justice, higher education and others.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Consultant in the Not-for-Profit Practice at SullivanCotter, you will enthusiastically:

  • Oversee teams conducting compensation analyses and position benchmarking for executives and/or staff, design and evaluate total compensation programs, and develop creative solutions for many of our clients.
  • Manage complex projects within established budgets and regularly monitor the success of the client experience, introducing appropriate interventions or activities to keep timeline, quality, and deliverables on track.
  • Draft prospective client proposals, comprehensive work plans, presentations and reports to address client needs.
  • Oversee the development of junior associates, and review their work for technical accuracy, quality, completeness and timeliness.
  • Serve as the emerging subject matter expert on client teams, proactively sharing knowledge, use of tools, processes and methodologies established by the firm and effectively guide junior associates in complex research, data collection and analytics.
  • Manage team productivity for full associate resource utilization, including prioritizing work and demonstrating effective delegation of project tasks, as appropriate, to analysts and consultants based on skill sets, efficiency, available time and project deadlines.
  • Effectively keep the principal leader apprised of project status, including delays or potential problems, holding yourself and team members accountable for client deadlines and deliverables.
  • Act as a key client liaison and build client relationships through attendance at client meetings and anticipating client needs and questions.
  • Assist with the expansion of client services to grow client relationships, and identify prospective project opportunities.
  • Participate in and contribute to the successful marketing and prospective activities to assist in growing our practice.
  • Develop and implement tools, work product templates, processes and methodologies that will improve productivity and quality.
  • Lead and participate in workflow and client delivery meetings with a spirit of collaboration.
  • Lead special projects in pursuit of practice development and growth.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

We find people who generally fit this profile have a high degree of success in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Seven or more years of either executive and/or staff compensation consulting experience or seven years or more of related compensation analytical experience involving data evaluation, financial modeling and presentation design.
  • Solid technical knowledge and experience working with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Passion serving organizations making the world a better place; past experience working with these clients is a plus.
  • Role model problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and the ability to:
    • Visualize and articulate a higher level of complex problems and concepts, recognize patterns in complex sets of data, and develop practical models.
    • Analyze and interpret data using advanced modeling techniques.
    • Anticipate challenges, identify alternate solutions, and drive the removal of obstacles impeding project/team progress.
    • Apply statistical methods to analyze and resolve complex business and technical problems.
  • Excellent people and articulation skills, including the ability to:
    • Foster an open and effective channel of communication with clients and across teams and provide constructive feedback that helps junior associates develop skills and experiences.
    • Make clear and convincing presentations while successfully tailoring communications to the audience.
    • Effectively present facts, analysis, and conclusions/solutions in a way that demonstrates command of content, factors in perspectives and interests of the audience.
    • Write concise project communications, documents, and presentations with appropriate level of technical detail and complexity.
  • Excellent project management, organizational skills, and ability to manage and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Reflected below is the base salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to academic achievements, skills and experience. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

  • $119,111 – $161,150
