Client Delivery Team Leader

Ted Tackett is a Principal and Client Delivery Team Leader in the Physician Workforce Practice at SullivanCotter with expertise in compensation design and total rewards management for physicians, including those in unique and emerging leadership roles.

With over 12 years of consulting experience, Ted works with some of the nation’s largest and most prestigious academic medical centers, children’s hospitals and health systems. His consulting approach considers organizations as a whole, creating compensation programs that drive desired physician behaviors, build broad-based stakeholder buy-in and achieve strategically aligned performance results.

Ted’s experience includes:

  • Partnering with health care organizations to attract and retain top physician talent and achieve strategic goals in a transforming, value-based environment.
  • Developing professional service agreements for individual, high-risk physicians and provider teams in primary care, single specialty or multi-disciplinary medical groups.
  • Aligning compensation philosophies and tactics for physicians and advance practice providers (APPs) based on new payment and care models, resulting in greater collaboration and job satisfaction for providers, as well as enhanced care quality, patient access and experience.
  • Educating boards and management with respect to compensation governance strategies that balance financial stability with population health initiatives.
  • Assessing fair market value and commercial reasonableness of physician total compensation arrangements in relation to legal requirements, proven business principles, best practices and market data.

Ted earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in sales and marketing, with high distinction, from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He also received a Master of Business Administration with a health care concentration, with high distinction, from the University of Detroit Mercy.
