Jim Rohan – Chairman

As one of the original founders of SullivanCotter, Jim is a Managing Director in the Chicago office and is the firm’s Chairman of the Board. For more than 30 years, he has worked with a wide variety of health care organizations, helping their boards and senior leadership think through talent issues related to recruiting, rewarding, engaging and retaining top executives and physician leaders.

Ted Chien – President and CEO

With more than 25 years of health care management and consulting experience, Ted leverages a deep, 360-degree understanding of the industry and its stakeholders – providers, payers, employers and the government – to help him advise health care leaders in the board room and at the C-Suite level.


Robert Oberrender – Treasurer and Independent Director

Robert Oberrender is a decorated financial executive who recently retired as the Chief Investment Officer and Treasurer of UnitedHealth Group in October 2018. He has built and managed successful teams as an executive in a variety of organizational settings for early-stage organizations and large multinational blue-chip companies.

Frances Ferguson – Secretary and Independent Director

Frances Ferguson is an accomplished C-Suite executive with more than 25 years of experience. She most recently served as Group Executive, Managing Director and the Chief Administrative Officer of the Financial Markets and Treasury Services Sector operations at BNY Mellon Bank.


Brian Dunn – Independent Director

Brian Dunn is an experienced consultant who recently retired as the Chairman of McLagan and the CEO of Performance, Reward and Talent at Aon Consulting. He currently serves on the Cornell University faculty where he teaches Executive Compensation and Managing Compensation.

Meg Garrison – Shareholder Director

Meg is a Managing Director at SullivanCotter. With over 20 years of consulting experience, Meg specializes in executive compensation and works with a variety of organizations, including large multi-hospital, multi-state health systems, academic medical centers and more, to design reward programs to support the achievement of organizational goals.


Kathy Hastings – Shareholder Director

Kathy is a Managing Director and the Executive Workforce Practice Leader at SullivanCotter. She has over 25 years of compensation consulting experience advising large and complex not-for-profit health care organizations to develop comprehensive executive compensation and benefits strategies to recruit, retain and engage top leadership talent.

Paul Keckley – Independent Director

Paul H. Keckley is Managing Editor of The Keckley Report, a health care policy analyst and widely known industry expert. He is a frequent speaker and advisor to health care organizations focused on long-term growth, sustainability and advocacy strategies. In addition to the weekly Keckley Report, he has published three books and 250 articles.

Deborah is an informatics and web research leader with more than 35 years of experience. She is the Founder and President of McGuinness Associates where she helps new and established companies and not-for-profits realize the potential of emerging technology solutions and artificial intelligence.

Terry Pflager – Shareholder Director

Terry is the Chief Operating Officer and the Employee Workforce Practice Leader for SullivanCotter. With over 30 years of human resources and management consulting experience, Terry has long served as a trusted adviser to a number of large employers across the country.


Chris Terranova – Shareholder Director

As a Managing Director at SullivanCotter, Chris has more than 35 years of experience advising health care organizations in the New York marketplace by helping high-profile organizations compete for top talent and mitigate regulatory risk. She also helps them to develop total rewards programs to support value-based reimbursement, innovative team care and population health.
