Kathy Hastings
Strategic Client Relationships Leader
Kathy Hastings is the Strategic Client Relationships Leader at SullivanCotter. Kathy has over 25 years of compensation consulting experience advising large, complex not-for-profit health care organizations, and has developed a specialization in nationally renowned academic health systems. She works with boards and key executives to help them decide how to use executive compensation and benefits strategies to recruit, retain and engage top leadership talent in a transforming industry.
Kathy’s experience includes:
- Designing executive and physician leader compensation, incentives and benefits programs that are aligned with the mission and strategic goals of the organization and help drive the behaviors needed to succeed in health care today, including financial performance, care quality and patient experience.
- Assisting health systems navigate change during M&A transactions, while creating consolidated compensation programs, policies and practices that support future consistency, increased services, new care specialties and increased spans of control.
- Translating market intelligence and trends to educate boards and senior management teams about the new and expanding talent markets, as well as governance programs and practices emerging in the health care industry.
- Advising boards and compensation committees to ensure effective and compliant decision-making related to executive and physician compensation.
- Preparing formal opinion letters regarding the reasonableness of compensation provided to disqualified persons of not-for-profit 501(c)(3) and (c)(4) organizations.
As a member of the SullivanCotter board, Kathy helps set the direction of the firm. Previously, she was a principal and executive compensation consultant at a global human resources firm.
Kathy has a Bachelor of Science in management information sciences from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She also has attended graduate-level business school at both New York University in New York City and Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey.
