Principal

Jennifer Russell is a Principal in the Executive Workforce Practice at SullivanCotter and Detroit Office Leader. With over 20 years of experience, Jennifer works with health care organizations of all sizes on the assessment and development of executive compensation and performance management programs. She also has experience in broad-based employee compensation planning.

Jennifer’s experience includes:

  • Helping health care organizations develop and implement compensation philosophies and programs that reflect their missions, support their business objectives and fit the needs of their communities.
  • Designing competitive strategies to attract, develop and retain the best talent for both traditional and emerging leadership roles by leveraging customized peer groups and analytics.
  • Creating long- and short-term incentive plans to achieve strategic goals related to financial performance, quality care, patient safety and satisfaction, population health and employer of choice.
  • Auditing executive compensation programs, policies, performance management, succession plans and leadership development to identify and focus organizational investments.
  • Working with boards and compensation committees to develop effective and compliant executive compensation decision-making processes and governance procedures that are defendable and ensure reasonableness for all parties.

Previously, Jennifer was an executive compensation consultant in a global human resources consulting firm. While at SullivanCotter, she has been a guest lecturer on executive compensation at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She also is a member of WorldatWork.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wayne State
