Stan Stephen is a Principal in the Physician Workforce Practice at SullivanCotter. He has over 20 years of experience in health care consulting and has led a number of strategic and compensation planning engagements for large health systems, hospitals and physician practices across the country.
Stan helps organizations strengthen physician-hospital alignment, optimize provider performance, and develop effective and compliant compensation plans and governance procedures.
His experience includes:
- Implementing new business and care models to promote greater levels of engagement and alignment with both employed and independent physician groups.
- Conducting service line evaluations to develop structures and processes to drive clinical, financial and operational improvements.
- Developing compensation philosophies and goals to inform plan design.
- Assisting with the creation of incentive compensation design, performance metrics and measurement systems to better align provider behaviors with organizational goals.
- Facilitating fair market value compliance evaluations and assisting in the valuation of professional service agreements, co-management arrangements and employment agreements.
- Guiding organizations in the merger and acquisition of physician practices.
Stan received both his Master of Health Administration and Bachelor of Science degrees from Indiana University. Prior to joining SullivanCotter, he served as an Associate Director in the Enterprise Solutions business unit of a global professional services firm.
