Russell Crawford is a Principal in the Physician Workforce Practice at SullivanCotter. With over 27 years of experience, Russ works with health systems, helping them negotiate win-win acquisitions of physician practices and ancillary service lines, including ambulatory surgery centers, dialysis centers, diagnostic imaging centers, urgent care centers and radiation therapy centers. He’s an expert in determining practice fair market value and aligning transactions with organizations’ business strategies.
Russ’ experience includes:
- Performing due diligence services that enable health systems to better understand the financial and operational results of a medical practice they plan to acquire.
- Working with physician leaders and senior management to develop physician compensation programs that align with the organizational strategies and result in desired performance levels and clinical outcomes.
- Conducting fair market value assessments of physician compensation, medical directors and professional services arrangements.
- Developing post-transaction strategies that attract and retain top talent, especially highly specialized providers, and ensure smooth integration with a current physician workforce.
Prior to joining the firm, Russ was a senior manager in the health care consulting division of a regional accounting firm. He also served as a business analyst for Dun & Bradstreet.
He is a certified public accountant accredited in business valuation, as well as a certified valuation analyst. He holds active memberships in the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
Russ graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
