Patrick Kendall is a Principal in SullivanCotter’s Clinical Workforce Services Practice. He has nearly two decades of experience performing valuations in support of mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, and corporate compliance, and serves as a trusted consultant to health care organizations nationwide.
Patrick has extensive expertise in the valuation of health care businesses, assets, and complex arrangements, with particular focus on Certificate of Need (CON) licenses, health care–specific intangible assets, and ancillary departments within hospitals and physician practices. He works closely with health care organizations to deliver fair market value and commercial reasonableness analyses that support transactions, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives.
Patrick’s experience includes:
- Performing business and asset valuations across a broad range of health care entities, including hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory surgery centers, post-acute providers, retail pharmacies, imaging centers, HCIT firms, medical colleges, and CON licenses.
- Advising on mergers and acquisitions by reviewing third-party valuation reports, analyzing market data and multiples, assisting with valuation reconciliation, and supporting strategic acquisition and affiliation decisions.
- Assisting a state attorney general’s office in evaluating a proposed affiliation between two community hospitals, contributing financial analysis that supported the state’s first hospital affiliation.
- Conducting fair market value and commercial reasonableness analyses for complex management, professional services, medical directorship, and joint venture arrangements.
Patrick is a Certified Public Accountant (IL) and is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Society of Appraisers.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University and has published multiple articles and spoken at conferences on nonprofit/for-profit joint venture valuation topics.
