John Collins is a Principal at SullivanCotter. With 25 years of consulting experience, John has advised both company management and compensation committees on executive compensation and executive benefits issues.
Since joining SullivanCotter, John’s work has focused primarily on the for-profit sector, including publicly traded and privately held companies, investor-owned companies, and for-profit companies owned by not-for-profit health care organizations. John’s advisory services include:
- Rewards strategy and philosophy.
- Annual incentive and long-term incentive plan design.
- Executive benefits design.
- Total rewards benchmarking.
- Mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, and IPOs.
- Tax and accounting effectiveness.
- Regulatory compliance [e.g., CD&A, proxy,162(m), 280(g), 409A, CEO pay ratio].
Prior to joining SullivanCotter, John worked at a global consulting firm (now known as Willis Towers Watson) where he was both a Principal and Senior Director. He has also held positions as the Director of Global Compensation and Benefits at the Hess Corporation and as a life and health actuary within the insurance industry.
John received a B.A. in mathematics from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and an M.B.A., with honors, from Columbia Business School.
