James Ferguson is a Principal in SullivanCotter’s Executive Workforce Practice. James has over twenty years of experience consulting to health care and nonprofit organizations.
James’ work with organizations focuses on advising boards and senior leadership on executive and employee pay compensation issues. James’ experience includes:
- Development and implementation of executive compensation philosophy and strategies.
- Assessments of the alignment of total rewards – base pay, annual- and long-term incentives, supplemental benefits, etc. – with an organization’s compensation philosophy, mission and values, and business goals.
- Development of annual- and long-term incentive plans that align with the organizations’ goals.
- Advising boards and compensation committees on best practices in governance helping ensure regulatory compliance and appropriate oversight of executive compensation and benefits programs.
- Advice and opinions regarding reasonableness of compensation provided to disqualified persons at not-for-profit 501(c)(3) and (c)(4) organizations.
- Development of compensation strategy, salary ranges, incentive plan design, and compensation policies and procedures for executive and broad-based employee populations.
Prior to joining SullivanCotter, James served as a consultant at a global human resources consulting firm. James holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Georgia State University.
