Clara Hurtt

Principal

Clara Hurtt is a Principal in the Physician and APP Workforce at SullivanCotter. With direct experience consulting to a wide array of health care organizations nationwide, such as large health systems, academic medical centers, community hospitals, and pediatric organizations, Clara’s recent projects include the following:

  • Evaluating the fair market value and reasonableness of physician total compensation as well as physician compensation plans in relation to market practice.
  • Preparing formal client reports and reasonableness opinion letters regarding the fair market value and commercial reasonableness of compensation provided to employed and contractor physicians of not-for-profit 501(c)(3) and (c)(4) organizations.
  • Providing education to Board-level Compensation Committees, C-Suite Executives, and compensation administrators regarding regulatory compliance and fair market value
  • Developing processes across multiple entities to ensure a consistent approach in providing effective physician compensation governance.
  • Designing and implementing physician compensation plans that align incentives with organizational goals and increase provider satisfaction.
  • Supporting professional service agreement (PSA) negotiations between clients and independent contractors to expand access to care.
  • Developing custom surveys to gather market intel for a distinct cohort of physicians.
  • Presenting findings to client senior leadership and governance committees.

Clara holds a Master of Business Administration with a health care specialization and concentrations in strategy and human and organizational performance from Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management, where she achieved the honor of Beta Gamma Sigma. She graduated summa cum laude from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration in accounting and business management.
