PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Analyst at SullivanCotter, you will work with other consultants and enthusiastically contribute to the workforce and organizational design consulting projects. Examples of the work you will perform include:


  • Conducting research to understand industry and organization-specific issues around workforce structure, size, distribution, and diversity across different job families, financial performance and organizational characteristics, employee populations and career levels.
  • Aggregating, analyzing, and interpreting data to determine the appropriate size of functional and career stage groupings and defining market practices for various job levels factors such as direct and total reports, organizational reporting level, operational accountability, gender, race, and generation, and determining the prevalence of various factors such as organizational reporting structures and job title utilization.
  • Assisting with building the firm’s tools and methodologies, conducting predictive modeling, and supporting special research projects.
  • Assisting with writing and compiling reports, deliverables, and thought leadership relating to describing and summarizing project objectives, methodologies, analysis and results, as well as proofing for accuracy.
  • Responding to client-related requests, as appropriate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, ideally with an emphasis in finance, economics, statistics or mathematics.
  • One to two years of business-related experience is required, preferably involving data analysis, financial modeling and presentation design.
  • Experience working within a consulting, organizational design, compensation or health care-related firm is preferred.
  • Solid technical knowledge and experience working with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Tableau. Basic programming experience and exposure to statistical packages such as SAS and R are a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to:
    • Gather, analyze and organize data using a logical and systematic process.
    • Ascertain relevant and irrelevant data when conducting analytical work.
    • Visualize and articulate problems and concepts systematically.
    • Recognize patterns and issues in sets of data.
    • Identify obstacles that are impeding project progression.
  • Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly language and tailor communications, formal or informal, to the audience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
