This career opportunity is in our Minneapolis office. This position will be a member of a high-performing technology development team that supports the entire firm. The Scrum Master plays a critical role as a facilitator, coach and servant leader in supporting the commercialization of several software products to assist SullivanCotter clients with administration of performance based physician compensation plans and access data that is meaningful to executing their business strategies; in addition to providing internal tools that support associates in preparing materials for our clients in a more effective means. This role will serve as the liaison between the Product Owner, development team, and management in order to ensure that all targets and requirements are met.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coach product delivery teams from initiation through delivery by facilitating the scrum processes and ceremonies and encouraging and supporting them to self-manage, using a servant-leader management style.
  • Maintain product backlog and release plan, ensuring team members understand objectives, as well as current sprint priorities.
  • Facilitate productivity by setting up meetings, removing impediments and escalating issues that may obstruct the pursuit of the team’s sprint goals.
  • Work with Product Owner to document acceptance criteria, perform backlog grooming, and prioritize features/user stories.
  • Lead the team through sprint planning to gain consensus on what can be achieved.
  • Assess team performance by collecting metrics (capacity and velocity) and monitoring team’s progress toward sprint objectives.
  • Support the team by fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • Meet teams where they are while supporting continuous improvement for efficient and effective delivery.
  • Encourage the team to mature and strengthen our agile/scrum processes to deliver high quality, highly value capabilities to internal and external customers.
  • Bring creative ideas to help teams celebrate their success.
  • Proactively manage change and communicate across all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Master of other product teams.
  • Ensure development teams are set up to successfully complete tasks and meet milestones in a timely manner.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 4 years of direct Scrum Master experience in an agile technical development context.
  • Experience leading data warehousing teams using Tableau, OBIEE/Oracle 12c technologies.
  • Experience working with cross-functional business stakeholders and Product Owners.
  • Experience using scrum tools, including Azure (TFS) to manage work.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or consulting background is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership of simultaneous projects across multiple technology and product management teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. BA/BS degree in IT or computer science related field is a plus.
  • Certified Scrum Master desired, Project Management Professional Certification is nice to have.
