Clinician Nexus is a small and growing tech company under the privately held parent firm, SullivanCotter. SullivanCotter offers industry consultants and SaaS products to assist thousands of health care and not-for-profit companies all over the country. Clinician Nexus is automating these products and will build new ones to allow for customizable reports and dashboards for our clients and their employees. Our suite of products includes compensation consulting and benchmark research, analysis and reporting, annual comp surveys and customizable platforms to manage clinician student workforce lifecycle and employee performance management. These products create valuable insight that help drive much-needed transparency, lower attrition and increase ROI for clients.

We are seeking a Product Owner that can come in on the ground floor and work within a growing Program Management Office (PMO), reporting to the Director of Product and Project Management, to build out the internal facing tool for the market pricing team. This product will be scaling and growing for years to come. The Product Owner will help the businesses implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way. You will manage product delivery, write user stories, define requirements, and collaborate and communicate updates with stakeholders, facilitators, partners and technical teams. You will also test product functionality, work in two-week sprints, support monthly releases and maximize the output of the development team within a scrum framework.

A Day in the Life: Specific Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze system, application and data, communicate the findings and determine and prioritize goals and objectives and act as a liaison between cross-functional business departments and technical teams.
  • Perform research, gather information and interview business users to collect stories, write technical and application-level requirements, and translate them into specifications for technical projects that will drive desired design solutions.
  • Utilize Agile and MS office tools (including Visio) and relational database management systems. Write SQL queries for data analytics. Read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals and interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Use business requirements to write and execute test cases and create comprehensive end-to-end user acceptance test cases for business integration testing.
  • Develop workflows/charts/diagrams, perform complex analyses and report and present project deliverables and change requests, updates and issue to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Write improved procedures and recommend controls by identifying the problems, and create end-user documentation such as user guides, process flow charts and training materials.
  • Assist the Product Stakeholders in managing and prioritizing product backlog.
  • Assist in business change management activities and help the project meet schedule and business objectives. Your focus will be on the people side of change in the areas of systems and technology, processes, job roles and skills, as well as organizational structures.

What We Are Looking For

  • BA or BS in Information Systems, Information Technology or related computer degree OR equivalent product experience. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology, scrum master ceremonies and business analyst reporting. PMP, Certified Scrum Master or Certified Product Owner is a plus.
  • Requires 3+ years of technical product owner-related experience in gathering system requirements, analyzing data and software testing. Experience as a developer is a plus.
  • Solid technical knowledge and experience are required to work in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Azure DevOps or other similar software management experience that is easily transferable.
  • Strong knowledge of development and basic programming understanding, including SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, Svelte, VBA, Python or R, is required. Hands-on experience in these technologies is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the health care industry is preferred.
  • Experience in a small- to medium-sized tech company is preferred where flexibility and adaptability are the norms in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in data quality control.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, creatively solve delivery issues and provide solutions to mitigate risks and move things forward with dedication and perseverance to get the job done.
