The primary role of a Principal is to develop new and expanding existing client relationships, as well as leading projects from engagement to conclusion, specifically for SullivanCotter’s Not-for-Profit (NFP) Practice. The Principal is accountable for leading client delivery projects, ensuring high quality, holistic solutions and timely delivery; maintaining strong client relationships with key clients and prospects; and leading growth and development efforts for core practice initiatives. The Principal serves as leadership of the firm and fosters a culture of high achievement and excellent client service.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Generate new business for the firm’s Not-for-Profit practice through engagement of new and expansion of existing client relationships.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the practice nationwide by leading key initiatives (specific market growth and/or key service lines).
  • Develop and execute on plans to enhance market awareness of the firm’s capabilities in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Serve as client relationship manager and/or lead consultant, managing engagements from commencement to conclusion.
  • Provide exceptional leadership and foster a culture of high engagement, accountability and high-quality, timely delivery and client service.
  • Practice prudent financial management of client engagements through timely billing, collection and managing of billable staff.
  • Mentor, train and develop practice team members.
  • Speak at conferences and association meetings, and author articles and white papers.
  • Leverage social media platforms to assist in practice and firm brand building.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of successful work experience leading consultative compensation and benefits engagements with experience consulting to the not-for-profit sector.
  • Must have a BS or a BA college degree; an MBA or MA is preferred.
  • Polished executive presence with the ability to interact with senior executives, board members and business leaders as a consultative partner and strategic advisor.
  • Experience in executive and staff compensation and benefits consulting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical ability and quantitative skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and spirit of continuous process, practice and personal improvement.
