PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirement/Specification Management
  • Develop thorough technical solutions to business problems.
  • Determine functional requirements by extracting them from business, as well as from current and future users, through interaction and research.
  • Create detailed Business Requirement Document (BRD) and translate it into functional and technical specifications.
  • Develop accurate estimates for creating detailed BRD and associated testing.
  • Ability to communicate requirements clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partnering groups.
  • Manage requirements through entire process.
    • With other PPMT functional partners, develop business case.
    • Elicit requirements.
    • Requirement organization.
    • Translating and simplifying requirements.
    • Requirements analysis.
    • Planning and monitoring.
  • With training, be able to learn application dataflow and how to translate compensation formulas to workable solutions in the application.
Testing
  • Write effective use cases that represent real-life business scenarios that appropriately test the requirements.
  • Comprehensive testing of software components to ensure all requirements are correctly implemented and meet specifications.
  • Actively participate in design sessions and document design decisions.
  • Clearly articulate findings in the test results.
  • Actively participate in the solutioning process.
  • Work with business partners to identify and support quality and client User Acceptance Testing.
Other
  • Due to the start-up nature of this work, there will be additional duties that will be shared among the team where participation is expected (e.g. production release set-up and testing, Help Desk support) until the team has grown to accommodate the responsibilities in a formal role.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology or Computer Science; Master’s degree preferred.
  • IIBA CBAP certification preferred.
  • Five to ten years’ experience in software development cycle, especially expertise in the planning, designing and testing stages of the process. Agile experience preferred.
  • Solid experience in writing SQL queries.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Understanding of system engineering concepts and software development fundamentals.
  • Data maintenance and security, and system administration.
  • Modeling techniques and methods.
  • Ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis.
  • Business case development.
  • Effective and creative problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to synthesize information: drawing together judgments of the evidence, synthesizing these to form new position.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to understand business processes and how these processes contribute to the growth and success of the firm.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and execute task in a high-pressure environment.
