PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define, communicate, influence and maintain the long-term strategic data management architecture for the firm and their clients.
  • Work in projects, closely with technical architects, database developers, business analyst, product managers to optimal design for new products and tools.
  • Lead, direct and manage team of BI developers in their day-to-day work.
  • Define and develop data standards, procedures, guidelines, policies and lifecycles that meet the firms and client’s strategic information requirements.
  • Develop and interpret key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of data management processes.
  • Lead or consult on new technology evaluations that evolve the firm or their client’s ability to transform data into information and insight.
  • Develop and refine business and technical requirements to identify and document detailed data requirements, definitions, data lineage and relevant business rules.
  • Analyze requirements and transform them into corresponding conceptual, logical and physical data models.
  • Data warehouse design.
  • Perform development and maintenance work on data models, data dictionaries or other artifacts to maintain currency with corporate standards, integration with Enterprise Data Architecture and company goals.
  • Ensure that all artifacts be developed according to industry standards and procedures.
  • Conduct data modeling sessions with business users and technical staff.
  • Provide work direction and guidance to other BI members on the team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience as a solid BI data modeler/architect.
  • Significant experience and knowledge of BI tools (such as, Tableau and OBIEE/Oracle 12c).
  • Strong proficiency in Tableau (administration, repository metadata modeling and dashboards and report development). OBIEE Oracle product would be a plus.
  • Minimum 5 recent years in leading a BI team.
  • Strong experience in data warehousing design.
  • Solid understanding of ETL architectures.
  • Must have developed and enforced data standards in a previous experience. Should have strong writing skills to prepare meta data and a data dictionary and publish for the firm’s use.
  • Strong background in developing complex SQL inquiries.
  • Expertise in performance-tuning in SQL and BI tool.
  • Experience with upgrading BI tool versions.
  • Perform user story refinement by working with business.
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly as it relates to data modeling and enterprise data architecture.
  • Experience designing for enterprise use in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn and comprehend existing complex system infrastructures.
  • Ability to resolve design challenges, architectural issues and design conflicts.
  • Experience in R and/or Python is helpful.
  • Experience in working on products that are Software as a service (SAAS).
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or consulting background would be a benefit.
